Commissioner’s Role

The Pan-Island Commissioner for Standards is responsible for considering complaints about the conduct of States Members and Ministers in Jersey and States Members in Guernsey in relation to their respective Codes of Conduct.

The Commissioner’s role includes encouraging and promoting standards and ethics in public life.

Meet The Commissioner

Dr Melissa McCullough was appointed as the Pan-Island Commissioner for Standards in March 2023.

Melissa moved to Belfast from the United States in 1994 and obtained her PhD from Queen’s University Belfast, Faculty of Medicine in 1997. She has been the Northern Ireland Assembly Commissioner for Standards since September 2020.
